Hawkenbury Road will be closed to through traffic, on 18th September 2026 for up to 5 days.

The road will be closed outside 1 Slaney Cottage, Headcorn Road. The alternative route is via Hawkenbury Road, New Barn Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 North Street, Warmlake Road, Chart Hill Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Station Road, A229 High Street, Headcorn Road, Hawkenbury Road, and vice versa. This closure is necessary to repair a leaking comm pipe to be carried out by South East Water.
